Mom Based Business: Scentsy

Those of us moms who get to claim the title "SAHM" have a great thing going for us! We are SO blessed to get to be where are hearts are, managing our homes from that home base.

Sometimes, it requires that we offer a support of the income our sweet husbands are pulling in. I really feel like moms who are able to do this successfully are a great example of woman who are working to manage their resources well!  You gals with "mom-based businesses" are inspiring!

One of my mom friends who does this, is Courtney (no, that is not the only reason I love her :). Courtney is an Independent Consultant for Scentsy wickless candles and shared some about her home-based business with me ...

Having a two year old and an infant we had an entire mess of scents. Some very pleasing like the way my daughter smells after her bath, and some not pleasing at all.

Courtney has a very active little man, which made flames a no-so-safe way to balance those good and bad home scents! She went on a mission to find something safe and yummy smelling...

Simply put, what I learned is this: Scentsy wickless Candles are plug in warmers (not burners) that use a small wattage light bulb to heat specially formulated fantastic smelling wax. There are over 80 scents to choose from strong to very mild... I decided to order the least expensive item that they have to offer. A wall plug in and one bar. I spent twenty dollars. That lasted me three months.

There is no burner to catch fallen items on fire or over heat itself. The wax never gets hot enough to seriously burn the skin. It switches on and off like a lamp which means it is just as safe to leave on day and night.

I truly believe in this product. It serves its purpose, saves me money, and because it is my home business it helps me be a stay at home mom and still feel like I'm bringing financial support to my husband!

Courtney has offered to provide us with our first GIVEAWAY!  Wahoo! We are in the big time now girls!   Courtney will be giving away this way cute, full-size warmer and a Scentsy bar to go with it!

  1. Well I am blessed to be a SAHM because I fell like I can better support my husband, and be there for my children when the unexpected gets tossed our way. I love creating memories daily with them.

  2. There are so many things I love about being a SAHM, but the one I have noticed most recently is the variety of our days. In one day, I can blow bubbles, have deep discussions with my friend during a play date, and watch video footage of strange animals my son was asking about. You never know what each day holds, and more often than not, each one is a very rich experience!

  3. Yeah!! What a nice giveaway! I have been wanting to try these :)

I am blessed to be a SAHM because I don't miss a thing with my daughter. We share marker covered hands, Popsicles, bubbles, wagon rides, and more. She can lift my spirits with a simple smile or hug and makes every day better.

I am also blessed to have a wonderful husband who works hard so I can stay home!

  6. It is such a blessing to be at home. We pretty much have to scrimp and save for things but I'm learning to be content in whatever I have. My greatest riches here on earth are my children.

  8. LOL, I could write a whole post on this :P

I am blessed to be a SAHM because I VERY MUCH dislike working outside the home, and I'm so blessed that my DH is happy to be the bread-winner so I can be the bread-maker :) And now that we have our little girl, I can't begin to imagine going to work every day and leaving her with someone else!

  9. My SAHM blessings sometimes try to hide behind a crying child or a sink full of dishes after fixing breakfast or baking cookies. I'm constantly reminding myself that God is blessing me with these things because I would hate to let my children grow up and realize that someone else comforted them at their fussiest or took time to make a memory baking with them.

  10. I have four girls and am blessed to be home with them during the summer and work at the school they attend. I love my husband who provides for all we have and we are working together to change our financial future. I love my children, my home, and all that I have. My husband is also the children's pastor at our church, so we are always doing something with the children, which I also love. God has sooo blessed me, but there is more. My father in law just had a double lung transplant in May. He is still in ICU, but he is alive and getting better daily. I am blessed that he is still here with us. Another child will be added to our extended family at Christmas. We are soooo very blessed

  11. I was so blessed to be a SAHM until my NOW adult children reached middle school. I loved being home with my kids. One day my son needed to go to daycare and he came home saying, "I don't like to go to "Annie's", all those kids give me a headache!". Again, very blessed.
